I eclipsed the sun
melded All into One
Divine Birthright
the plan
gave hope
to the damned
Shone Light in their
water
Showed all then
their Power
Christ's sister
at best
Buddha's brother
in my chest
Silence watches
Angels smitten
I carry hope in my mouth
like a cat
carries kittens

~Mina Bast 3/16/2007

Mina Bast is a poet, author, artist, photographer,  muse, and mystic.

Mina was born Micheline Ann Thomas (Marinkov) in St. Paul, MN  on July 21st, 1975.   After being hit by a car in April of 1988 and experiencing a head and spine injury, Mina  underwent almost 20 years of  chronic neck, back, and head pain.  This  eventually led her to explore multiple alternative methods of pain relief and energy healing modalities which ultimately brought her to Matrix Energetics.  After meeting Justice Bartlett, co teacher and daughter of founder Dr. Richard Bartlett, she began to learn this consciousness technology and implementing it in her daily life.   She is now a Master Practitioner of Matrix Energetics and has become extremely intuitive.  She teaches classes on consciousness, mindfulness, forgiveness and infinite potential as well as overcoming sexual shame and implementing healthy references for sexuality in people's lives and the population at large.  Her dream is to create a healing and learning center based on teaching that focuses on acting from the heart and tapping into that infinite potential.

Mina is also a photographer and has had numerous shows and publications in Seattle and Minneapolis.   She has worked with several fantastic photographers as a model/muse and is always excited to collaborate on new projects.   She hopes to build and artist collective both online and eventually in 3D.

Inspired by a housemate doing a pastel drawing in the summer of 2008 Mina decided to give it a try and was astounded by how naturally it came to her. She exhibited her pastels for the first time in late 2008 and a larger collection in early 09.

The poetry began in high school in a creative writing class and continues to this day.

Mina took the last name Bast in 2008 after the egyptian goddess of pleasure and play.  Bast is also associated with worship of both the sun and the moon, fertility and cats.  She is often depicted with the body of a woman and the head of a cat. She is sometimes called Bastet.

Bast is the daughter of the sun god Ra. Interestingly, Mina's fathers'middle name is Rada, a combination of the name of the sun god and the term for father.

Mina's grandfather was born Dionisio de Rivera.  Dionisio is a derivation of Dionysus, who is the god of wine and revelry.  The last name means "of the river".  Her mother's name is Reynetta,  spanish for queen, making her "Queen of the River".

The cat has showed up in several pieces of Mina's art without any conscious intention of including her there.
